Odisha Madhu Babu Pension Yojana is a social safety scheme launched by the state government. This government scheme aims to provide financial aid to widows, elderly people, and those with disabilities in the state.

The scheme was created through the merger of two pension rules: the "Old Age Pension Rule" (1989) and the "Disabled Pension Rule" (85). These two programs have been renamed "Orissa Madhubabu Pension Yojana".

Financial Assistance under Madhu Babu Pension Yojana in Odisha

The following benefits are available to those who benefit from the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana: 

• Rs.500 All beneficiaries aged 60-79 receive Rs.

• Rs. 700All beneficiaries aged 80 or older will receive 700 rupees per month.

Pension due to beneficiaries is disbursed every 15th month on JANA SEWA DlWAS (in a Rural Area) by BDO, or by any officer under BDO in Gram Panchayat Office and by DSSO, or by any officer under DSSO in municipal office.

Odisha's government invites the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) online application form 2020 at ssepd.gov.in. The state government launched this scheme in January 2008. Two old schemes were merged. The Revised Old Age Pension Rules 1989 and Disability Pension Rules 1985 were merged into the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana Rules 2008.

Odisha Madhu Babu Pension (MBPY) - Eligibility Criteria

• Pensionable are those who: Have reached the age of 60 and older

• Is a widow (regardless of age)?

• Is a leprosy sufferer with visible deformities (regardless of age)?

• Is a person with cerebral palsy, or is he/she blind, orthopedically handicapped, or mentally retarded?

• Or a widow (regardless of the age and income criteria listed under Rule 6(b)).

• Or, an AIDS patient who has been identified by the State / District AIDS Control Society.

• Is a woman battling divorce cases (regardless of age)?

• Is a person transgender?

• The family income must not exceed Rs. 24,000/- per year (the Tehsildar in question will certify).

•  Transgenders must have an annual income of less than Rs. For transgenders, the annual income must not exceed Rs.

• Is a permanent resident/domicile in Odisha.
